Coraline

Yesterday, I and my dearest niece Alixa happen to watch ‘Coraline’ from start till end, I being an enormous fan of kids cartoon movies watched the movie with equal interest like Alixa :)
It is an altogether a niece movie with some very good visual effects and graphics so we can rank the movie at 4 out of 5. One thing that was pretty much interesting about this movie was the attitude that was erected in Coraline’s character, I really enjoyed tiny, little girl making cute annoying faces when something against her wishes used to happen (and apparently everything in the film went against her tiny miny desires). Mrs. Jones (Coraline’s mother) was also an interesting character as she depicted a typical working mother who is busy with her work and has very little time for her cute little daughter but deep inside she is a true, caring mother. The scene in which Mrs.Jones presents the same piece of gloves to her, which Coraline wanted like anything was so adorable, literally brought tears into my eyes.
On the whole, I (and Aliza too) liked the movie and would recommend it as a good time pass, especially for kids.

Andha Kabari

At times we come across some very unusual things which apparently becomes an essential part of our life and then you can never find courage in yourself of loosing that essential part...
This poem "Andha Kabari" written by Noon Meem Rashid (one of the trend setter poets of urdu poetry) is one of my favorites, i just love the concept and the way it is delivered in free verse style...

shahar k goshon main hain, bikhray huwe bashakasta sar-burida khwab
jin se shehar wale bekhabar hain
ghomta hun shehar k goshon mai roz-0-shab
k unko jama karloon
dil ki bhatti mai tapaoon
jis se chut jaye purana mail
unk dast-o-pa phir se ubhar ayain
chamak uthain lab-0-rukhsar-0-gardan
jaise no-arasta dulhon k dil ki hasratain
phir se in khawabon ko samaitain
khwab le lo, khwab
subah hotey hi chawk mai ja kar lagata hoon sada
khwab asli hain ke naqli
yun parkhtay hian k jaise un se barh kar khwab daan koi na hoo
khwab gar mian bhi nai
surat gar-e-sani hoon bas
han magar meri maeeshat ka sahara khwab hain
sham hojati hai
mai phr se lagata hoon sada
muft le lo muft....ye sonay k khwab
muft...
ye aur dar jatey hain aur chupke se sirak jatey hain
dekhna ye muft kehta hai
khaeen koi dhoka na ho
aisa koi shobda pinha na ho
ghar pohanch kar toot jayain
ya pighal jayain ye khwab
bhak se urh jayain kaheen
ya hum pe koi sehar kar dalain ye khwab
ji nahi..kis kam k aisey kabari k khwab
aisey nabeena kabari k ye khwab
raat hojati hia
khwabon k paleenday sar pe rakh kar moon basooray lotta hoon
raat bhar bar barata hoon
ye le lo khwab
aur le lo mujh se in ke daam bhi
khwab lelo, khwab
mere khwab..meray khwab
in k daam bhi

September ki barishain

maine kaha bahar barish hai
usne kaha september mai barishain nahi hoteen

maine kaha aj mausam k taiwar alag hain
usne kaha kuch bhatkey huwe badal honge

maine kaha ye qatray koi dastaan sunatey hain
usne kaha mehaz pani ki bondain hain

maine kaha andhairay barh rahe hain
usne kaha chiraghon ko roshan kar lo

maine kaha dil k darwaze pe bar bar dastak nai hoti
usne kaha september mai baraishain nahi hoteen

Training Experience at Systems!!!

It was apparently good news for all of us when we heard that we have been nominated for a training course for certified business analyst professional sponsored by my organization. The training was to be conducted at some location exterior to our office and our group of four girls including me and my three other colleagues were pretty much excited about these training sessions but at the same time we were hesitant to attend a four hour class.
Anyways the first day of training arrived and we all went there full of curiosity and interest but all our excitement vanished in a second when we reached that institute where the training was to be conducted. It was a small house (that must have been rented for these type of training sessions), the kitchen was exactly adjacent to where the class was being conducted, multimedia screen was no larger than the size of 3*3 photo frame, there was just one energy saver and two fans in the entire lounge, we also met a baby lizard in the wash room and above all the trainer – my goodness, that trainer was such an unbearable person, a complete and true mixture of an ostentatious, show off, over confident and extremely complexed fellow…

Despite of all odds, one thing which was amazing about this training was the tea there, the pathan house keeper used to make tea for all the attendees there (obviously in front of us because the kitchen was no farther than 2 feet).
We were really disappointed by the atmosphere and the trainer so we all went to our managers the next day and asked either to conduct these sessions at our own office’s premises or please get us off of these sessions but neither of the two happened and we had to take the rest of the three classes.

But then as they say you get immune to things, we also started to accept the atmosphere and the attitude of the trainer because some things had really improved there in the sense that size of multimedia screen had increased, and now the lounge had one energy saver, two ceiling fans and one pedestal fan.

Finally, last week of these training sessions arrived and I thought when this all will be finished we will at least miss the time and enjoyment that four of us had with each other and of course we will also miss the ‘tea’ of that Pathan. I swear it was an awesome tea and I will remember that taste for the rest of my life :P
The last session of the training went really well because the organizer of the training had called two guest speakers who were quite experienced and learned people, they shared their good/bad experiences, professional difficulties and quoted real life examples. And the last day also went good because we got certificates for this training course which resembled much to a photo stat.

But anyways good and bad experiences are part of life and each and every event teaches you something that is useful in your life somewhere sometime.

Farz karo hum ahle wafa hon

This is one of my most favorite poems, i simply love it...I love to read and re-read it that's why i am posting it on my blog so that i don't need to search the net whenever i feel like reading this gem piece by Ibn-e-Insha.

Farz karo hum ahle wafa hon, farz karo deewanay hoon
Farz karo yeh dono batein jhootee hoon afsanay hoon

Farz karo yeh jee ki bipta, jee say jorh sunai ho
Farz karo abhi or ho itni, aadhi hum nay chupai ho

Farz karo tumhain khush kernay kay dhoondhay humnay bahany hoon
Farz karo yeh nain tumharay such much kay maykhanay hoon

Farz karo yeh rog ho jhoota, jhooti peet hamari ho
Farz karo is peet kay rog main sans bhi hum per bhari ho

Farz karo yeh jog bajog ka hum nay dhong rachaya ho
Farz karo bus yahi haqeeqat baqi sub kuch maya ho
_______ Ibnay Inshah______

baat shru hoi thi...

baat shru hoi thi
magar agey nahi barhi

maine jo kaha wo logo k shor mai
gum hogaya hawa k zor main
khizan k patton k sath
meray lafz bhi bikhar gaye
ehsaas ko zuban nai mili
khayal ko roshni nai mili
bhataktey rhe gardishon mai
chiragh benoor hogaye
andheray dastoor hogaye
mai hawaon mai urna chahti thi
jab urran bhari tu maloom huwa
meray pankh nazr-e-fatoor hogaye
waqt ki dor k sath bandhe hain
hum bhi tum bhi aur zamana bhi
kuch baatain ankahi reh jati hain
kuch gilay ansune reh jate hain
waqt agey barh jata hai
aur hum waheen kharey reh jate hain
gar peeche mur k dekhain tu
pathar k butt reh jate hain

baat shru hoi thi
magar agey nahi barhi
